A few steps and protocols to consider:
-
Check Jail Policy - some facilities have specific procedures and restrictions.
-
The inmate MUST be informed of the scheduled notary visit, understand the document's content, and be willing to sign - No refunds will be issued if the inmate is unaware or refuses to sign the document.
-
Please have the inmate's booking ID available.
-
If there is a lockdown during the visit, additional fees will apply.
-
Please be aware that some documents may require a witness and please let the notary know as an additional fee will be applied. Or opt for documents that do not require an additional witness.
-
Please meet at jail to supply document. If you are unable to print out the document, we are able to provide that service for an additional fee. Please let us know so we can give you the appropriate contact info.
Please note that notaries are NOT attorneys and cannot provide legal advice. This includes helping you select or fill out documents.
